Teaching Philosophy
The primary goal of my teaching is to make piano lessons enjoyable and have students learn, while having fun. Lessons are tailored to each student’s musical abilities and needs. I use method books with early beginners as well as some specific pieces, depending on the songs and style of music they like. I strongly believe that students should enjoy what they are working on.
As students become more involved and experienced , I gradually introduce pieces of different genres from classical to pop, and jazz. Being classically trained myself, I consider that reading and understanding music is the most important factor in becoming a better pianist. Students do some ear-training, sight-reading and improvisation as part of their lessons. I encourage them to explore the incredible possibilities of the piano and compose their own musical pieces, which they can perform at recitals, music talent days at school or music camps. Performance is another part of learning that I try to stimulate. Piano recitals are a wonderful opportunity for students to shine and share their talent with parents, friends and relatives. I consider playing the piano a gift that we want everyone to enjoy; it brings joy to our own lives, makes the world a better place!
